Jaynie Louise Tice, a junior in the FGCU journalism program and a 2013 graduate of Palmetto Ridge High School, Naples, applied for one of the Naples Press Club Terrence J. Miller $1,000 annual journalism scholarships for the 2016-17 academic year. The NPC Scholarship Committee met, interviewed Tice and voted to award one of the scholarships to her.

Tice is majoring in journalism with a minor in psychology. She loves to write and fell in love with journalism when she took her first journalistic writing class from professor Lyn Millner at FGCU.

Currently, Tice writes for the FGCU Eagle newspaper and posts people-oriented stories that she has written on her website. Tice hopes to be a staff writer or columnist after she graduates in 2017. She plans to attend some of the NPC luncheon meetings and looks forward to meeting more Naples Press Club members.

Debbie Meade and Connie Kindsvater will be co-mentors for Tice in the NPC scholarship program.
