Pick up local newspapers almost any day lately and you will see NPC members in the news.
Dorothy Jane Mills was featured in the banner spot on the front page of a recent Saturday edition, which included an inside feature story about the first female historian in the Society for American Baseball Research.
An upcoming autograph session for her new book “Chasing Baseball” is scheduled on her home turf, The Carlisle, on March 15th. This informative article was written by another of our members, Elizabeth Kellar; The Naples Players Theatrical Gala was spotlighted in a colorful piece by Suzy Dorr; The Imagine Solutions Conference, a pet project of Carson Beadle, a first for Naples, attracted 500 people; Bill Klauber wrote a piece about his Pelican Bay community; Cynthia Bercowetz wrote an impassioned letter to the editor about her husband’s death and the risks of energy drinks; Phil Jason has not only been writing book reviews, but he has also been on the radio recently; NPR’s Neal Conan will perform with Ensemble Galilei on March 12th, at the Shell Point Retirement Community, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
Birgit Pauli-Haack, our exceptional webmistress, is at the Olympics, but finding it tough to keep in touch. She says: "Due to the exorbitant data roaming rates and over extended wifi channels in Vancouver, Twittering is not part of the experience yet. Having fun, probably much more without having to deal with a keyboard the size of a brownie!"
