2010 promises to be a great year for the Naples Press Club, as we launch our first online newsletter and re-energize the Web site.

 The Scoop Redux comes to you thanks to two dynamic ladies.

 Denise Rochford is the club’s new Communications Director. She’ll draw from an extensive journalism career to lead a team of Scoopsters, keeping us informed about upcoming events, recapping past programs, profiling the fascinating lives of individual members, and much more.  Birgit Pauli Haack, our Webmaster, has spent countless hours launching a new Web site and designing our online Scoop. When you see it, I know you will agree that the Web site has received a fresh look and is easy to navigate. I am deeply grateful for Birgit’s capable efforts to further our goals.  As my two-year term ends, I would like to thank everyone for the opportunity to serve this wonderful club. It has been a blast, and I am quite satisfied with the progress we were able to achieve. I hope that you enjoyed our programs as much as I did – from last year’s Centennial Forum featuring the National Press Club, to panel discussions about photojournalism and a stunning tribute to Walter Cronkite with our special guest, Phil Jones. Our happy hour events have proven to be quite popular too.

 I would like to thank the entire board – my good friends – for their support and hard work. I’m also grateful for Cindy Dobyns' help in procuring all those wonderful happy hour locations.

 I wish only the best for the club and its wonderful members.
