Can’t decide if it is a good or bad omen that the Chinese Year of the Snake begins on my birthday this month.

This year, 2013, designated by the Chinese as 20-11-4710, is looming. I don’t feel very slithery, although some scales are appearing on my back, there’s a rattle in my chest and my tongue keeps slipping in and out.

Could my yin and yang be out of order? Maybe I should go to an acupuncturist? A decision for another day.

Jenny Craig and Karen Clawson are  honored by two different organizations.

Jenny’s latest accolade comes from the American Business Women’s Association. As a recent winner of the award, she was chosen to present the “Woman of the Year” award to Jennifer Ziegelmaier and three others women in January at the Royal Palm Yacht Club.

Karen will be named one of the 21 select “Makers: Women who make Southwest Florida” during an evening event to be held on February 25 at the Arts for Act Gallery in Fort Myers. Karen’s is the founder and executive director for “K is for Kids Foundation.”
