The late Tom Cardamone was an NPC member and an artist. Originally from Brooklyn, Tom and his wife Ann moved to Naples many years ago, home to their business TGA Graphics.
The Navy veteran attended Brooklyn College at the School of Visual Arts. Tom later returned to SVA where he taught for more than 20 years. He was a teacher, a mentor, and a good friend to many. Tom also authored five technical advertising production books. His spirited outlook and upbeat personality live on through his paintings. He recently finished “Tom’s Cruise” after his 80th birthday.
Here is just a small sample of Tom’s original artwork.
We will miss you, Tom.

Back in November 2008, on an Arts Alliance tour of studios in the industrial sector above Pine Ridge, I stopped at 6240 Shirley Street Ste #205 and met Tom Cardamone for the first time. He was the most understated, self-effacing artist I ever met. His studio was full of absolutely mind-blowing paintings of every size imaginable, with colors and details I pored over for more than an hour. We talked about his background, Brooklyn, and mine, Manhattan. We compared some of his paintings to each other, so varied and different in approach and technique. He explained that he probably could do any kind of rendering if he had the time. This visit with him was followed by a few others, all genial and exploratory into many art fields. His business card is a painting of feet in a pair of sneakers on red bricks. An amazing artist, a gentleman.
